recall of 30.0.1
As long as 30.0.1 is running well and I don't need language packs or themes should I nevertheless go back to 29?
I have a backup of the last 29 profile but it would be helpful to know if places.sqlite isn't affected by the one way profile transition to avoid html export/import of the bookmarks.

You should be fine if you aren't currently experiencing any issues.

I had to install emoji font manually (Win7 x64, 32-bit browser), but no other visible degradations for now.

I don't understand the reason of recall.
The 30.0.1 runs very well in my laptop.

Re: recall of 30.0.1
The recall is not necessarily for the browser itself, but the whole package deal users expect with it which we can't supply at the moment.

Re: recall of 30.0.1
Does this mean that developers can continue to update their themes/extensions for v30, or are they on hold as well?

Re: recall of 30.0.1
Yes, this is a bit confusing. When the "new" v30 will be released, is it going to be a different v30 making the "old" v30 redundant? Is a 29.4.5 release the next one? Should we all v30 users roll back and align with the current releases?
I know you have lots of work, but a clarification is probably needed.

Re: recall of 30.0.1
Themes will still have to be updated, but v30.1 will have the Pale Moon GUID once again (like v29).
While 30.0.1 is safe to use, I do recommend people who need/want more than the base browser to go back to 29.4.4
I'm working on a security update 29.4.5 to then give me breathing room to make 30.1 happen, which will be offered as a normal update when it is done.

Will 30.1 still have compatibility with older FF extensions?

Yes. Pale Moon will be rolling back to a dual GUID system.

Re: recall of 30.0.1
I am glad I found this thread. I was wondering why I could not download the new 30.0.1 version. I thought there was a problem with my computer seeing only v29.4.4. I use Palemoon at work, so is it ok to keep 30.0.1 with regards to any security issues we should be aware of?
I installed the latest version yesterday thru "Check for updates" .

Yes, you can safely keep using it.

Re: recall of 30.0.1
In the "Pale Moon 30.0 release announcement" text it says "[...]profiles are not backwards compatible and you should not ever consider going back to v29 on a profile that has been used with v30[...]".
I waited until the auto-update checker notified me of a 30.0.1 being available and then thought it to be a confirmation that the 30.x series was going ahead without major flaws, so auto-updated to 30.0.1, with the only issue that the "Dark Moon"-theme was disabled as incompatible, while all other extensions, etc seem fine.
So I just want to verify that the release announcement's statement still stands? A manual rollback to version 29.4.4 would result in a broken user profile?
Assuming the answer to the previous question is "yes", then will there be some future mechanism to merge us that upgraded to version 30.x profiles into the now rolled back 29.x stable profiles for a united future progression, or are we simply going to be forced to wipe our entire browser profiles?

Off-topic:
P.S. I for one think the project likely will benefit greatly from decoupling from Tobin's constant anti-user aggressions, so even though of course a major obstacle, it may be overall beneficial.
Just expressing my personal opinion, with intent to also maybe cheer Moonchild a bit in a troublesome time, not a topic for discussion. ;-)

Re: recall of 30.0.1
If you have not used the browser extensively after the upgrade, you should be fine reverting to 29.4.4, although if you have a backup of the profile prior to upgrading to v30 that would be greatly preferred.

Re: recall of 30.0.1
Thanks Moonchild, I rolled back to 29.4.4 and it appears to be working fine on the profile that had been through the 30.x experience, at least for me and at least so far.

Re: recall of 30.0.1
I never got to installing 30.0.1, not even sure if the Linux version was ever released or not. I am still on 30.0.0. Is it safe to continue using 30.0.0?

Re: recall of 30.0.1
30.0.1 fixed some crashes and stability issues found in 30.0.0. As long as 30.0.0 is not crashing on you, you should be good until 30.1.0 is released.

Re: recall of 30.0.1
I'm experiencing crashes on Linux and would rather not go back to 29. Does anyone know where I can get the recalled 30.0.1 for Linux?
