PM 28.5.0a1 x64 of 20 March / Manual Update Button Broken
I've tried it on two Win7x64 machines. It doesn't work on either.

This button is already gone in the Pale Moon 28.4.0 release and will be removed for 28.5.0a1 as well. Instead you can use Help > Check for updates.

This doesn't work either, it seems something was broken by Issue #145 (UXP) yesterday.Instead you can use Help > Check for updates.

It works fine for me in 28.4.0.
The Help-> Check for Updates in 28.5.0a1 / 2018-02-20 doesn't work for me either.

Yeah, sorry about that. It was removed but in other application. I probably should not try to write anything right after I wake up...JustOff wrote:Sorry, but you are wrong.

This issue should be fixed now.
If you are currently on a broken version, update manually.

I just updated manually to this version.Moonchild wrote:This issue should be fixed now.

As far as I'm able to see, it's still broken. Do I have the latest version?
By the way, I'm using the "portable" build.
Thank you.

That's not the latest version.

Same to me. The "update" button is inactive. My last version is 28.5.0a1(20.02.2019).
I switched to "automatically install updates" but nothing happens.

For info, in the most current unstable version the "Check for Updates" button has sbeen removed, so once you're on it, check for future updates through the Help menu (Help > Check for Updates...).

You have not tried all options.
You're ignoring this:

To update manually means to manually download the full installer and run it.
After updating to the newest version, for the future you can check for updates using the Help menu.

If people can't figure out how to competently run an unstable version or work out bugs and issues in what is by definition NOT STABLE then get the hell off the unstable channel.
You're in the way.

In fairness, I think there is a language/translation issue.

I think that's a weak excuse.coffeebreak wrote:New Tobin Paradigm wrote:If people can't figure out...

It's not an excuse, it's an observation.
Admittedly, I'm surprised at the apparent level of misunderstanding...
But I also believe that if I were dealing with a language not my own, I might have problems too (being monolingual).

The fact remains that badnick is not qualified to run a development build. Nothing in his collected history and interactions would indicate he has the knowledge for basic troubleshooting let alone intermediate debugging of issues or advanced development skills. He should run release only. It will cause him less issues and cause me less low level annoyance.
Re: PM 28.5.0a1 x64 of 20 March / Manual Update Button Broken
I run both versions, stable is the main browser , development build is for cheking any issues when they occurs on my stable version or issues reported by other people. Sorry for my english.New Tobin Paradigm wrote:The fact remains that badnick is not qualified to run a development build.
