Problem is that it performs horribly in 4k and higher.
Libpx use too much resources in comparison to ffvpx

Web browser != dedicated media player. Don't expect miracles at 4k+ resolutions.

Maybe we've gotten a little off-track toward the end of this thread, but nobody's complaining, so I'll keep it going.

I don't know anything about Libpx, libvpx, ffvpx, or whatever, but I have to address Moonchild's statement.

People access the Web using browsers. I have several media players on my machine, but none of them access the Web as a browser and weren't designed to. So if my browser can't function to properly display what it encounters (4K, 8K, whatever) on the Web, what software am I supposed to be using?

It can function, but it simply won't be as efficient as a dedicated media player.
Of note, most dedicated media players DO have capabilities to stream media.

I am wondering why FF52 UXP is slower than FF55.0A UXP.
I compiled with mozbuild . Grabbed code from github. .

Current Basilisk is not in any way Firefox 55.. Also, UXP Take 2 is not in any way ready for useage.. While we have made great progress in the past 18 days or so it is still gonna take a minute. So do some research and cool your jets.

I wasn't really sure where to ask these questions, so i try it here.

Will PM UPX be the next official PM Browser?

And can it use the same old Firefox Addons as now i can use with PM 27.9.3?

If it was the wrong place please move my posting.

1. yes.
2. yes -- that is exactly what i am doing now: just upgraded from v27 to v28alpha. considering its alpha quality, everything went surprisingly smooth (read: nothing was broken).

this is not Firefox, this is Pale Moon. if it is called "Pale Moon" -- it will look like Pale Moon, feel like Pale Moon, and work like Pale Moon. ;-) at least this is the way devs followed for years, and i trust 'em to keep it this way.

so have no fear, devs are working hard to make sure that there will be little-to-none breakage for users. if it is possible at all.
