Linux Arm builds & why deleted XP builds?

Unread post by Computershik » 2017-12-12, 04:39

Dear MoonChild,
I hope you haven't forgotten me. I am Computershik, a system administrator of the library of Ulyanovsk State Technical University from Russia. I represent PaleMoon in my town and recommend it to everybody.

I have even two questions:

1) I have installed Linux Ubuntu Trusty 14.04 on my powerful Android phone Vertex Impress Saturn. There are Firefox and Midory web browsers installed. An, of course, the x86 build cannot be installed because of the ARM architecture of my pseudo PC. So I will be very glad if you will port PaleMoon to armhf. I do not want to use Android version as I have Linux installed.
2) Why did you delete the "PaleMoon Atom" page? I managed to make a mirror of XP and 7 builds on old-dos.ru, but even if you do not support XP builds anymore, why not to leave the page on the site untouched? I do not think 25 Mbytes of space on the server are critical.

Best regards,
Computershik

P.S. (For Russians only)
Россияне, если вы тут есть и шарите в английском языке, прочитайте то, что выше. А вкратце - прошу основателя проекта сделать сборку для arm-архитектуры.

1) If anyone wants to try and build for ARM, they are welcome to contribute a build.

2) The Pale Moon for Atom/XP page was removed because it is no longer a supported version. It's been a year since any v26 was decommissioned, and high time for that to go from the main site to prevent confusion as to what has active support and what does not.
If you want archived versions, you can find them in the regular place: http://www.palemoon.org/archived.shtml, specifically, the builds latest Atom/XP builds are available on the archive FTP at /Pale_Moon/26.x/26.5.0/.

I do not understand why arm is not in the list. Is the code for it too specific and different?

ARM uses a completely different microcomputer systems architecture. It is very different from Intel.

All is OK but no sound.
