As far as dev environments go, I have become pretty spoiled with the world of Visual Studio. It's hard to beat having the ability to visualize GUIs at design-time and cross-reference just about anything, among many other features.
I don't expect anything nearly as fancy for the world of Linux, but I am curious about the typical dev tools and environment used for Pale Moon and related projects. Can you use Eclipse or VSCode, for example? I'm not afraid of vim or the CLI by any means, but an IDE would make development much more, shall we say, convenient. Since I am vaguely familiar with web technologies and far less familiar with anything Mozilla, the added convenience would certainly be appreciated.
What tools and environment would you recommend for developing and building Pale Moon, Xulrunner applications, and add-ons to a (relative) beginner?
