Autocomplete dropdown tweak backport

Unread post by zerogravity » 2017-07-26, 20:03

In FF right clicking on an entry in the autocomplete dropdown causes the selected entry to be copied to the URL bar and the collapsing of the dropdown *without* submitting the URL, allowing for manipulation. In chroms and PM a right click there does nothing, which is pretty annoying.

From several posts it seems you want exact Firefox behavior in Pale Moon. Maybe you should be using Firefox, instead?

Well, 2. Obviously you want too otherwise you would have forked something else.

I am and I would like to continue to. Keep in mind that in their respective default states I vastly prefer PM over FF, however extensions tip it to FF's favour for me. It just seems questionable whether that will continue to be the case after the catastrophe that is FF57, so I am evaluating my options. It was my hope that a smaller project that values user choice might be more recipient to input relative to mozilla where such concerns fall on deaf ears.

Also "Firefox does it" is not an argument, change for the sake of change makes no sense.

I guess you are talking about the autocomplete in adress bar. In that case up/down arrow keys do what you need. And it would be *easier* since you are already at the keyboard typing the adress (avoiding a context switch).
Also instead of right-click, you can use left/right arrow keys once you have highlight the desired entry with the mouse.
