I do understand why there are those that would want to stay in the updated operating systems. I have no, (did I say NO!) love for just about any Microsoft product at this point in time and I simply don't trust them anymore. I have a great running system and it gives me no hassles. I cannot for the life of me find a reason to go through the upgrade process just so I can find something that just won't work or a driver that was not upgraded. Vista is unfortunately a bit unstable and I finally had to remove it from my wife's machine (constant issues). Windows 7 seems to be more stable and a lot of folks love it. No sweat off my brow but after seeing the new Windows 10 privacy (No Privacy) Microsoft Services Agreement I will never upgrade to Microsoft again. http://www.thenewamerican.com/tech/comp ... is-spyware

My next operating system will be a Linux of some variant and I will run XP on Virtual machine.

Sorry for the small rant JodyThornton. I do hope all works well for you. I'm simply just set in my ways and refuse all the XP fear porn.

It's not just what you call "fear porn". I stopped developing the main-line version of Pale Moon for Windows XP for many more reasons than just security (even though that is a fundamental and growing issue), and you'll just have to understand that the NT 5.* series of Windows is simply difficult, if not impossible, to maintain if you are aiming for current-day hardware and using it efficiently. Many modern mainboards will simply not be able to run XP because of advances in microcomputer systems architecture, for example.
Being 15 years down the road from its first development and software design does that. It's unavoidable.

When XP-locked hardware will become rare enough in the Atom market sector, even that version will not maintain XP compatibility (although there is currently no plan to drop it, it's an inevitability down the line, speaking long-term). There's only so much archaic range software can and should support if it wants to be able to develop further and remain compatible with new hardware as well without making disproportionally large sacrifices.

As for the future of Windows, there likely is one, but what shape it will take is quite unknown at the moment. It's even possible that Pale Moon will have to re-focus on other operating systems as main development, depending on which direction and which application compatibility the future Windows OS will have.

I find that comment very interesting, to say the least.

Yea Moonchild, Your right and since I'm not a programer I simply would not know about that side of the coin. When I mentioned Fear Porn I was speaking of all the articles I have read talking about how dangerous it is for me to still be using it. I can understand their view point but I haven't updated my system for many years as I seemed to always have problems with certain updates and this thing is still running perfect and fast. And then there is that trust thing. I guess for me it's not that big a deal. I don't keep anything important on my computer anyway so if it did get jacked I would just format and start again. I'm just sooooo happy with how this operating system works and all my little XP goodies programs, It's like a good recliner that fits just right and every other chair I try just doesn't do it for me. I suppose if things get to the point that XP is finally 6 feet under in terms of anybody being able to do anything with it then I can either just keep using it till it dies or try Linux. Eventually I will be forced to get a new chair but since a good cleaning keeps it nice I will continue to use it till it falls apart. :D

By the way, thanks again for all your (and other guys and gals) hard work. I saw an article today that talked about Firefox pre-loading a site if you hover too long on any link. I sooooo don't miss them. You are a God sent for us. Keep up the great work.

P.S. It would be great to have a forum thread just for Windows 10 and how it runs under the hood with Pale Moon from your point of view. I don't know much about programing so I don't have a clue what you guys have to do to make your browser work with new systems and how different it is from version to version. Just a thought. ;)
