Using Pale Moon version 25.5.0 (x86) with Windows XP-SP3. Trying to figure out why URL shortcuts show the IE8 icon instead of the PM icon.
In File Types, extension URL is set to open with Pale Moon, and all the shortcuts actually do when you click on any of them.
I know I can change the icon for each shortcut one by one, but that is kind of tedious.
TIA for any ideas on how to get the PM icon automatically with URL shortcuts.[/size]

Re: Wrong icon on URL shortcuts
Reset your file associations and clear your icon cache.. Instructions are easy to find via your prefered search engine.

Re: Wrong icon on URL shortcuts
Thanks Matt, for the prompt response. Sorry you found the text obnoxious, was only trying to make the font easier to read for tired eyes, and font size IS one of the options on the New Topic compose page. In the meantime, for those reading this thread in the future, I found a one-click solution: the Rebuild Icons feature of TweakUI for XP. One click and you're done. It does scramble the icon layout of the desktop, so if you have a lot of icons on the desktop, first use something like WinTidy to remember the layout.

Re: Wrong icon on URL shortcuts
People already have system-wide options to make text larger/smaller to read (both in the forum controls top right and in their browser). Please do not try to think for others - as a result for people who have enlarged the text themselves because they are tired, your message would blow up to silly sizes and they'd have to adjust again just to read your post comfortably.ghwolff wrote:Sorry you found the text obnoxious, was only trying to make the font easier to read for tired eyes, and font size IS one of the options on the New Topic compose page.
Font size is there in the formatting toolbar for when you need it to make a formatted post. See some of the FAQ entries where this is employed to make it easy to scan sections and find the information you want/need. It is not meant to enlarge or reduce font size of entire posts. it's a formatting tool for text sections just like other entries in the toolbar. Use sparingly and purposefully, please.
Thanks for understanding.
