Left-clicks not always registering

Unread post by BrokenEye » 2016-04-07, 00:54

Since the last Pale Moon update, the browser has been responding inconsistently to my clicking the left (primary) mouse button. About 2/3 of the time, when I click on a link, a button, a text box, a dropdown menu, the menu bar, or any other left-clickable element in the browser, absolutely nothing happens, as if I were merely hovering the mouse pointer instead of clicking it. If I keep clicking, eventually one of them will register, but it can take anywhere up to four clicks to get just one response. It doesn't appear to be any kind of lag, since when clicking doesn't work, I genuinely receive no response whatsoever instead of merely getting a delayed response.

The right (secondary) mouse button and scroll wheel do not appear to be effected by this bug, nor does my ability to move the cursor around. I haven't had any difficulty left-clicking on any program other than Pale Moon, so I believe it is most likely a problem with Pale Moon and not with my mouse or my computer.

I'm getting this issue with version 26.2.1. Sometimes when I open a page, I can't seem to click on anything. I'd have to open the same page in a new tab just to get it to work properly.

EDIT: I'm just now noticing that this thread was posted in the Windows XP forum. :? Well, I guess it's a problem in Windows 10 now...

I can't reproduce this either.

Can you compare notes? any common extensions or system software installed?

Using this page may help: http://unixpapa.com/js/testmouse.html

I did over 20 right (primary for us left-handers) mouse clicks using this page, no misses. I've not experience what it being reported using any version of PM on any currently supported version of Windows.
