Recent Hangs

Post by greyowl » 2016-02-16, 00:58

Recently, since upgrading to 26.0.3, I have been experiencing higher CPU and memory even when PM is idle. Also, I am having occasional hangs for up to 30 seconds on some websites such as gmail--the throbber stops and PM is totally unresponsive, then it comes back to life.

Just thought I should let you know in case it has anything to do with the update and new engine.

Memory usage should be improved in Pale Moon 26.1.0 on Windows (which will be released soon). Please report back if the new update doesn't resolve this.

Definitely more responsive and stable since the new memory management. Running with 1000+ tabs.

Gmail is no longer hanging.
Memory usage is still higher than Light Firefox, but not as bad as it was.

Memory usage will be slightly higher with this lib. It's just inevitable for it using memory as-available.
