[SOLVED] Flashing graphs in morningstar.com
Is anyone else having problems with the charts in the upper right corner rapidly reloading, sometimes causing the whole page to jump? This is at the home page, http://www.morningstar.com/
This occurs in Palemoon 25.8.0 and every PaleMoon version that I have ever run, starting I believe with 26. Never occurred on any version of Firefox, or Opera. I quit IE too many years ago to be relevant.

Re: Flashing graphs in morningstar.com
They reload fine and not the frequent, on my end.
Using Palemoon 25.8.1 and Palemoon 26 Beta 3.
I see no "jump," but when does the "jump" occur? Upon scrolling?
Edit: Disable Hardware Acceleration.
I'm merely trying to help but since I run Windows 10, it might be a bit hard to find the solution.

Re: Flashing graphs in morningstar.com
Disabling hardware acceleration seems to be working. I'll mark this as solved if it's still OK on Monday when the market is open and occasional updates should occur.
Re: Flashing graphs in morningstar.com
I checked and I use XP Pro SP3 and did not have any of the problems you talked about. Running Pale Moon 25.7.3

Re: Flashing graphs in morningstar.com
Also using XP sp3. I thought this was solved but now it is recurring. The jump is caused by the page continually reloading. The graphs are just the most noticeable aspect because they erase and redraw, but the icon on the tab pulses along with the graph. I tried safe mode and it seemed to go away. But this morning it also returned in safe mode. Will try reloading 25.7.3 but I think it happens there too.
Re: Flashing graphs in morningstar.com
Reloaded 25.7.3 and opened morningstar in a second tab. it looked steady. Then I closed the first tab and it started reloading madly at least one cycle per second.
Re: Flashing graphs in morningstar.com
Ok so I did some research and the only way I can figure is that either you have an add-on issue or something else. Did you try going to this site in safe mode? I did find a add-on that might help. It's called YesScript. It allows you to instantly stop script on any page. Kinda the opposite of NoScript.
It makes a small button on the top right of the browser (at least on mine) that looks like a scroll of paper. Once you have installed it then go to the page and let it load. Then click on the scroll. It will turn black. Then reload the page and see what happens.
Let us know but I would do the Safe Mode thing first. I have a ton of add-on's and it's hard to tell if one of mine is blocking that problem or not.

I disabled the add-ons one by one. Only the theme "Firefox 2, the theme reloaded 1.0.11" had any effect. Disabling it slowed down the rate of reloading, from about once per second to once every ten seconds.

Seems very strange. Try the Yesscript and see what happens.Tony0945 wrote:I disabled the add-ons one by one. Only the theme "Firefox 2, the theme reloaded 1.0.11" had any effect. Disabling it slowed down the rate of reloading, from about once per second to once every ten seconds.

Re: Flashing graphs in morningstar.com
I switched from the theme "Firefox 2, the theme reloaded 1.0.11" to "Fox 2 the Moon 1.1.1" and the reloading problem disappeared. I had a problem with "ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap" further into the web site, but found the solution by searching this forum (site is using a deprecated cipher).
Interestingly enough, On Linux 64 with "Firefox 2, the theme reloaded 1.0.11", I didn't have the flashing graph problem, but I'm going to change the theme to "Fox 2 the Moon 1.1.1" there anyway, just in case.

I would assume that theme is incompatible with Pale Moon (hence your problems with it) since it is made specifically to alter the australis look of Firefox. Firefox is my backup browser in Linux and I use this great theme to make FF look (almost) like it did before australis. Like you I also use Fox 2 the Moon on Pale Moon.Tony0945 wrote:
