All programs get converted to their equivalent asm when compiled.
Some parts of the Pale Moon code are written in asm, but no, no one is going to write the entire browser to asm. There'd be very little benefit of doing this, and compilers these days can optimise code to a large extent.
In addition, it is also perfectly possible to write programs in asm that perform poorly.

Critical paths in Pale Moon are already written in ASM.
