Path for flash plugin?

Unread post by highend » 2015-03-24, 06:31

Hi,

I have the following situation:

- I'm using Pale Moon v25.3.0 x86 (the zipped version!)
- Pale Moon resides in: "D:\Users\Highend\Tools\Palemoon\App"
- My profile is stored in: "D:\Users\Highend\Tools\Palemoon\Data\Profiles\Highend"

I'm using a 64 bit OS (Windows Server 2012 R2 Update 1)

So I fired up a Windows 7 x86 Hyper-V virtual machine and installed the latest v17 NPAPI Flash Player in it.
Afterwards I copied
C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerPlugin_17_0_0_134.exe
C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\\NPSWF32_17_0_0_134.dll

to the physical OS inside this directory (which I created manually):
D:\Users\Highend\Tools\Palemoon\App\lib\mozilla\plugins

But after restarting Pale Moon it doesn't recognize the flash plugin (about:plugins)

- I do not want to install the Flash Player plugin but use it in "a portable fashion" (like I do it with my Firefox)

So, is the path on my physical OS wrong or what am I missing here?

"App\lib\mozilla\plugins" isn't a valid plugin search folder for Pale Moon. "lib\mozilla\plugins" would be valid if you are using the portable version of Pale Moon, but not the zipped version, and even then it would have to be the existing folder in the portable folder structure.

You should be able to add the plugin directly to Pale Moon by putting it in \plugins under the Pale Moon installation folder, but i haven't tested it recently.

Thanks Moonchild for the quick reply.

I've tried that (although again with the zipped version):
D:\Users\Highend\Tools\Palemoon\App\plugins\FlashPlayerPlugin_17_0_0_134.exe
D:\Users\Highend\Tools\Palemoon\App\plugins\NPSWF32_17_0_0_134.dll

Unfortunately this doesn't work as well.

My bad, since the FF21 code base it should be browser\plugins instead.

If you want to use the root app folder like before (and like I suggested), you need to set plugins.load_appdir_plugins to true
