Problem is that adobe have decomissioned the archives so only the latest possibly time bombed version is available as a plugin.
maybe a download site is hosting older versions..pre v32 to be safe.
Adobe are hellbent flash is being shown the door.Insane as HTML5 and webgl gaming is crap in my opinion.

Give the open source community flash and let us enjoy the decades of content.

I checked two old programs downloading sites, but they drank the Kool-Aid and have removed Flash.

For now at least, archived Flash Player installers can still be downloaded via archive.org:

Speaking of Open Source flash, have you guys checked out Lightspark?

https://lightspark.github.io/

It looks promising.

Lightspark is still in alpha state, it currently implements around 76% of the Flash APIs.
Which is about the same level any Open Source flash player project is at, because it's all reverse-engineering based. And without the additional 24% it'll simply not do.

 brokenweb,
If your Debian-type package manager can't (or won't) do the job for you, you can simply install it yourself. Just make yourself "root" and use your file manager to create the directories you need -- or, if you prefer, use 'mkdir' in the terminal to create them. Then, copy over the file(s) you need into the appropriate directories you just created, making sure the .so file is executable. Pale Moon will detect the plug-in and you can enable it in the browser itself.
It doesn't look like Mint 19 has any way to login as root from the splash screen. What permission am I going to have to alter, and how do I alter it?

You don't have to do that, just open a terminal and type 'sudo su', then enter your password when prompted and you'll be in a root shell. All commands from here can run as root.
If you want to open a GUI program as root, for example using xed to edit a system configuration file, type

Code: Select all

xed admin:////root/somefile
and enter the password of your currently logged in user account when prompted.
Note the prefix is admin:/// with 3 slashes, and then the path to the file in question (/root/somefile).

Honestly I'd rather be able to install it from the zips I downloaded, but I tried moving it to multiple folder locations and setting their permissions like moonbat recommended and they STILL don't work. I tried:
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libpepflashplayer.so
/usr/lib/nsbrowser/plugins/libpepflashplayer.so
/usr/lib/adobe-flashplugin/libpepflashplayer.so

None of them work. God everything about Linsux is such a dumpster fire. What I wouldn't for a good 64-bit Win7 disk.

In Pale Moon's roadmap page it is stated that there will be full support for NPAPI plug-ins like Flash and Java, also after EoL of Adobe's plugin product line.

However, it seems that Adobe's recent plugins have a timestamp that do not let browsers use it after 12/1/2021. This can be confirmed by changing one's computer date and trying to access flash content online/offline via Pale Moon. This occurs even if older installers are used (as it is suggested in another thread) or even the installer that Adobe suggest via prompt to use in order to keep using flash after its EOL.

Is there any solution planned in a future release of Pale Moon?

Given that there is still a lot of useful educational material still in flash, I would really appreciate an official reply. I thank you in advance.

We can't do anything about any time bomb Adobe has baked into their binaries.
