And I clearly stated that
for now the Isaac Schemm's plug-in works fine
Learn the difference between a plugin and an extension first. And goes back to my statement - if it works fine then why even create this whole thread?

To create drama and show the world just how unreasonable and monstrous we all are by not caving to their demands. Also to waste our time.

Think Latitude and badnick and John connor types.

So with the new Pale Moon version, pdf reader/viewer is not supported anymore. Any workarounds to get such an addon working?

Thank You

Huh, where did you get that idea? IsaacSchemm's pdf.js works well in 29.2.0.

It works fine if you use the one I linked to in older posts in this thread since that one targets Pale Moon.

I had the pdf viewer installed from another dev, it was the external one that was used by Pale Moon. It stopped working after this update, but I installed pdf.js and it working for me, thanks!

You don’t need a PDF plugin (and I advise against them because of the inherent security implications of loading foreign documents inside the browser) […] PDF is not a native format for a web browser. It never has been.
If I may respectfully add my own two cents here…

I do a lot of research involving online digital collections of newspapers, magazines, manuscripts, etc., and there are many such collections that embed views of PDFs within web pages. A few examples:

https://www.library.fordham.edu/digital ... M/id/20979
[Hover mouse pointer of page image area and click when it says “Open Image Viewer”.]

https://ufdc.ufl.edu/UF00028290/04705/pdf

As far as I can tell, you do need a plugin or extension, or a browser with built-in PDF support, to properly view these pages. Since use of HTML/PDF hybrid pages like these is becoming fairly common in digital collections, especially among large libraries and educational institutions, I'd say that PDF is well on its way to being adopted as one of a variety of web content formats, and that official support is warranted. Just sayin’.

Why are you reviving old threads for shits and giggles when the link to a working PDF support extension has already been mentioned in this very thread several times? Install that and use it if you want to view PDFs in the browser. End of story.

My two cents. If YOU need a PDF plug-in and/or built in PDF support. My suggestion is to start working on either one. Your choice.

Both pages work just fine. The first has pdf.js embedded as a web-side viewer, which will do fine (albeit being very slow because the "PDF" in question is large scanned images that must be downloaded). The second has a "Download this PDF" link right there which will spawn a download and external PDF viewer as-normal when installed.
Neither require a plugin or extension. So let me respectfully donate your 2 bits to charity.

I think it should be noted that the IsaacShemm pdf.js fork was recently added to our site too.

While the slug doesn't seem awfully appropriate, given his project's name and aims I don't mind it. Though I do consider this a rare exception given that it's a well regarded, pre-existing project.

Thanks for noting that, Lootyhoof.

I have now uninstalled the Github version and installed the version that is hosted on official Pale Moon servers.
