I'm running Element Hiding Helper for ABP (1.3.2.495-Beta) with Latitude and haven't found a problem with its function.
Newer versions are listed as incompatible though.

Could anything be done about performance when moving around in the filters list? I can't even scroll through with mouse wheel, because the browser essentially freezes. Selecting several filters and pressing space to toggle them on/off takes maybe 10 seconds. Anything more freezes the browser completely and in a few minutes I get the "script unresponsive" popup... It's really horrible.

This is an issue for me as well; having had to reinstall PM thanks to a corruption that was entirely my own fault, I now have no working Element Hiding Helper with my Adblock Latitude.
Is there any way to get this sort of a function added to Adblock Latitude natively or as a similar port of the existing Element Hiding Helper?

I wish I was a coder so I could offer something along the lines of a port myself, but alas... I'm not.

Matt, could ABL accept "hosts file" definition?

It would be really nice if we could reintegrate full on EHH functionality in but it would be a big job. I would ask for help on this.

you can get the working version here... https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefo ... 2.495-beta (web list)

you need to arm yourself with back up tools! :)
http://www.palemoon.org/backuptool.shtml

and FEBE is a very good tool for saving all your addons! (I am using V831..)
http://softwarebychuck.com/febe/febe.html

note that PM is **functional** not 'burning edge'... that is what Firefox 60 is for...

BTW what do you mean by ' "hosts" definition ' ? do note that a 'simple program' is better to stay separate if you are trying to secure your PC...
Trying to make your *browser* do *all* security is a 'fail' due to putting ALL your eggs in one basket...

and 'internet security' starts even before windows has properly started, with the 'hosts file'.. and it is quite a few seconds before any 'non Microsoft' program can load! even antivirus!
VM 300Mbs in london england  :coffee: on Intel Core I7 3GHz on Gigabyte X58a.
PM 32.4.1(64bit) on win7(64bit) sp1 - does ytoobe better than FF!! 8-) :P
Got 24Gig, Nvidia GTX 1060 :D dont need 4k - not rich, not gamer, newer GPUs only for $$$ peeps
:eh: useragentstring(com) :problem: FF 115.3.1  :P

Every time I start up Palemoon it opens up my default home pages. But in the past week it has also been opening up another, unwanted page, titled "Thank you for installing Adblock Latitude. Ads will be blocked from now on, Enjoy!"

Can some here tell me how to stop this extra page from opening up. It's not in the list (Tools/Options/Startup) of my home pages, so I don't know where it's coming from. Is there a choice somewhere to get rid of it.

That indicates a permissions problem in your profile and ABL isn't able to set the current version to a pref. See, that first run screen should only happen upon a version change.. An update. If it is happening every time then it is indicating a bigger problem.

Check your security/av software see if it is preventing write access to your profile.

BTW this isn't actually a problem with Pale Moon or Adblock Latitude.

I don't have a security or AV program running automatically (I use them manually), so it could something that changed a permission in one of the profile files. But which file? Is there an overall permission for the profile folder, or could it be just one of the many files.

I see that I have two versions of Adblock Latitude listed in my addons page. One is 3.5.0b1
and the other 3.0.3.1 . I should probably delete one of them, is one better than the other of the Atom/XP v26.2.1 version of Palemoon.

If you have two versions installed then those would indeed conflict and one would always see the version of the other and cause conflicts.

3.5 isn't a final release yet, so you probably want to remove that one.

A quick question for Matt A. Tobin, the primary developer for Adblock Latitude. With Pale Moon v27 in beta testing (public beta 2 currently), will Adblock Latitude v 3.5.0b3 be released out of beta testing at the same time as Pale Moon v27? My reason for asking is because the current version of Adblock Latitude, v3.0.3.1, is not compatible with Pale Moon v27; the beta version of Adblock Latitude is.

I appreciate all the great work that Matt and the Add-ons team perform for all the Pale Moon users!

Pretty much that will be the case and the 3.5 version will take over from the 3.0 version.

Thanks much, Matt!!! That's what I thought. Reading the various forums, you have a "lot on your plate" right now and I thought you'd release a finalized version of ABL 3.5. Thanks again!!

I do have much.. There is only a few small nondescript issues with the beta.. Some cleanup that needs to happen.. I have been using 3.5 for most of this year.. It is perfectly stable.. Only staying in beta status because it still has some minor work to be done to it yet.

I just noticed a problem with the Adblock Latitude button that is always missing. It will only stay on if I open up the add-ons manager page, check the "show button" line, and leave the add-ons manager page open. The second I close the add-ons manager page, the Adblock Latitude icon will disappear and when I check the add-ons manager page again the "show button" line will be unchecked.

I'm using Palemoon 25.5.0.1 and Adblcock Latitude 3.0.3.1 . Is there a fix for this problem?

John

Matt Tobin, thanks much for releasing the new ABL v3.5.0, prior to the release of Pale Moon v27.0. Good job!
