YouTube add-on script now disables comments.

Nearly a year ago, I made this thread regarding an issue I had with YouTube's age verification system--the button to verify your age wouldn't appear, completely blocking you off from viewing such videos. The thread is locked, so I have to start a new one as an update.

I received a response in that thread from Gemmaugr, suggesting I use this Greasemonkey script to bypass it. It's been working great so far, but now it's recently starting a new issue--YouTube comments won't appear at all. Now the comment section remains constantly loading.

Edit: It seems an issue has been reported on the script page. Aside from that, does anyone have any other potential solutions? The script hasn't been updated since June 2023, so I don't think the author is checking the page anymore.

So that's why the comments haven't been loading!! Thanks for clearing this up.

I'll see if I even need it anymore, or if I can find another such script to use.

If a video has an "age verification system", I do get a prompt for that. As for the video you just posted, I can see the comments which can be seen in my screenshot. But I will have to admit. I do "not" have a YouTube account so I am never logged into YouTube. So I am guessing you do "have" a YouTube account and this may be a reason the comments for this video do not appear.

At the time of this posting I am using 64 bit linux (GTK3) Pale Moon 34.3.1 running in 64 bit MX Linux 25.2 (Infinity) Xfce. And I always have uBlock Origin 1.16.6.1 enabled for YouTube.

Okay, so I disabled the script and I'm getting the age verification prompt again on 18+ videos. I don't think we need that script anymore.

However, even though I'm keeping the script disabled, I'm not deleting it--keep it around just in case the prompt issue occurs again in the future.
