It is endearing to think we might embrace a few thousandths of online browsers. With six milliard internet users in the world, this would mean there are ten million or more of us out there. It might also be worth noting that figures for XP and other old OS are similar. It is sometimes said an XP user is safer today than he was ten years ago, now that attention has moved elsewhere and compilers ignore it. On the other hand, a community somewhere between the populations of Sweden and Holland would surely someday attract some unwanted attention.

It's easy to lose sight of the scale of things when you talk about percentage points on very large pools.
I'd say any piece of software with more than 10,000 active users is at the very least interesting to bad actors, and that threshold number might even be lower if the bad actors are specifically attacking a certain demographic if the software targets particular sub groups or communities.

About how many Pale Moon users would you estimate there are?
Off-topic:
When I am in bed, I sometimes amuse myself by imagining my skin flora as a civilisation. I adopt the convention that a micron corresponds to a ‘bacterial metre’ and an hour to a ‘bacterial century’ (bacteria can reproduce every 20′, and a century is traditionally three generations). My skin surface corresponds roughly to the surface area of Persia or Mexico. My lifetime thus far may as well be the whole Cenozoic era to my inhabitants. It got me to play Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri again…
