Linux (and other *nix) users have the option of opening any external program within the browser itself via the MozPlugger NPAPI plugin, but I wonder if there's an equivalent for Windows. It got ported to Mac back then, so it seems to be Windows that's missing out on such an equivalent.
A use-case would be to try having my image viewer display images that aren't supported by Pale Moon, like AVIF. But I also plan to have all top-level image documents be handled by NPAPI, like I've done with top-level videos and audios.
