RE Roboform legacy WebExtension compatibility with PaleMoon browser ??

Post by Bogger2Borger » 2025-04-11, 22:35

Hello Forum members,
first time posting in this subforum about addons:
I have a roboform 7.9 offline password manager and would like to have the roboform XPI (legacy format??) addon install to palemoon browser BUT keep getting "this XPI addon is corrupt (or incompatible?)" error after trying to add the addon XPI file!!??!!

Is there a way to repack the XPI file (I have heard online that there is a way to repack the XPI without using digital signature reinforcement but no clear instructions to doing this "repack"...)so as to install this addon into palemoon version 33.7 without getting "XPI is Corrupt" errors??

Please advise and thanks in advance for a reply!!

There's no requirement for digital signatures in Pale Moon; if the version of Roboform you're using was made after 2017 it is most likely a web extension, which Pale Moon doesn't support.

Pale Moon doesn’t require signed addons
