What I do not understand is why you aren't working with the creator of uBlock Origin - he maintains a separate branch "uBlock Origin for Firefox legacy-based browsers" - https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock-for-firefox-legacy - for developers like you.
JustOff took over the development from Gorhill for the UXP browsers. JustOff is Ukrainian and we haven't heard from him since 2021. He hasn't released a new version since then. Some of us fear the worse. :|

A quick note, the msfn website seems to be down, can't check to see if new ublock origin has been updated.

1.16.33 was last version updated that I know of. I don' t know if it has been upgraded since.
I don't think there was a newer version than that. We've been using JustOff's version for years, so I wouldn't worry about it. It doesn't really need regular updates.

I would be slightly more worried about the seven Built-in uBlock filters. If I understood correctly (not 100% sure about this, to be honest), these would not auto-update from their default locations any more in AstroSkipper's version due to technical issues/compatibilities, but he would personally update them when necessary.

Don't know what's going on with MSFN. It is indeed currently down.

Just checked the built-in uBlock filters in AstroSkipper's version and they seem to be updating. Last update for them was four days ago.

MSFN is working again. uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.33 (23-02-2024) remains the current latest version.

According to @AstroSkipper in regard to updates:
I have of course noticed that there is considerable interest in my mod uBlock Origin Legacy. I have therefore addressed the problem of updating an existing installation of my mod (1.16.4.32 and higher). With the upcoming release of uBlock Origin Legacy 1.16.4.34, it is now possible to install this version over an existing installation of my mod. I am still in the testing phase, but everything looks good and seems to work so far.

The change is, that the internal list of all preselected filter lists (assets.json) will then finally be automatically updated too.

I had heard about that. I meant other developers like @AstroSkipper who seem to be working on it.

He is an MSFN board member, not from here. Upto him if he wants to publish it here (with the added responsibility of maintaining it with browser changes)

Version 1.6.4.34 has been released. Main improvement is that from the next release, you will be able to update it directly (no clean uninstall/install process will be required - it is still required to install this one).

Info, release notes and download link in this post.
