Hi,
I have a java start problem, it will not engage in pale moon 20.3 for me, but does work with all other browsers I use. I have no idea why, as I have tried everything including uninstalling and reinstalling.
I have both java 7 update 25, x32 and x64 bit , I use windows 8.0 and the it works in all other browsers I have but not pale moon. What should I do as I have run out of ideas now.
I hope I have reported this to the right area, being new here, if I did not, I apologize for this error.
thank you,
Ivan

Re: Java problem
You failed to mention which Pale Moon you're running. 32 bit? 64 bit? Portable? Anyhow...
Open your Java Control Panel and under the Java tab click the "View..." button.
If there's more than one product listed in there, make sure only the latest version is enabled. Over the years, I've found that having only one product is a path to Java happiness. You should uninstall earlier versions.
Under the Advanced tab, Mozilla family should be checked for Default for Java browsers.
Every time you make a change in the Java CP, restart Pale Moon.
Hope that helps and if not it at least eliminates a couple of the things in the Java troubleshooting checklist.
Good luck.

Re: Java problem
I solved it as everything mentioned here and what I did, did not work well at all. So I uninstalled Pale Moon. This did not affect Firefox at all so that is why I was so curious. Firefox works ok and Pale moon had a corruption of some kind, I did a sfc file scan and did find a few files corrupted and all is fixed now and working correctly. How these things get corrupted is anyone's guess as I rarely if ever tamper with things like that,
I shall reinstall pale moon next new update and see if the problem still happens, I sincerely hope not, but java would not start or engage at all in anything, absolutely would not cooperate, odd behavior indeed. I use x32 Pale Moon version 20.3 so I have no real idea what was wrong, but uninstalling it all and all settings etc etc. (yes I did save favorites and passwords ), will start over with it, sometimes you have to do things like that, whether you like it or not. Computers at times are a pain in the butt and I am a computer tech or thought I was, retired now, at the age of 66...Oh well no one is perfect, we just like to think we are lol
I also find, that not all extensions are cooperative with PaleMoon or Firefox, and that is also a pain.... I have also noticed recently in the last 4 or 5 bulds of Firefox that it corrupts very easy any more, install a extension, willingly or unwillingly if it comes with something else, it often corrupts your settings and other things. I grow tired of that happening..anyway, thanks all for your answers much appreciate, but this I guess to some degree shall have to remain a mystery...
