I only have and use one extension which is uBlock Origin (1.16.4.30). The only theme I use is Moonscape (7.2.2). This is the short of it.

I mostly use my own extensions and the ones I curate (that's why I made/curate them after all), plus About Robots, Adblock Latitude, Classic Password Editor, Cookies Exterminator, DOM Inspector, FireFTP, Home Styler, and Pale Moon Commander.

Plus my "In The Dark" theme on my desktop, and the "Bloodmoon Edition" on my laptop.

Not as many as some. But these come from a bunch of places. Some I've forked and maintain, some i've forked - and some don't exist any more...

Some I've installed because they clash with one of the extensions I maintain and then just disabled permanently after trying to work round.

Wow, some folk have a ton of extensions installed.
I was always under the impression that the more you have installed the slower the browser functioned - obviously not

This is what I have installed. Most are from the Pale moon site, and a few are old extensions that either still work or I have modified/customized.

I have checked both on the office and home machine (now I use more often the latter):

I would consider as "important extensions":
ABL 5.0.9 , Classic PW editor 1.1.2 , NoSquint 2.2.2, Session Manager 0.8.1.14
I have also installed as "hidden" (i.e. in a custom toolbar not normally visible): Cookies Exterminator 2.9.10, Dismiss the Overlay 1.0.7, PureURL 3.3.3 and only on the home machine Modify HHTP response 1.3.3 to access a specific discourse-based forum
I have also installed but forgot why: Dorando keyconfig 2018.1
I have installed disabled: CAA 2.0.1, IDCAC 3.4.6 (replaced by a filter in ABL), NewMIME 1.5, FEBE 10.4 (this is not disabled on the office machine, but de facto I never use it on any machine ... I prefer to make a tar backup of my profile)
Finally I have Expire history by days 1.2.4, which I considered an "important extension" on the office machine when I kept the machine logged on for weeks. Now that I log out (and even on the home machine which I switch off physically) it is pretty useless for my purpose. It is on the todo list to evaluate Swabby as a replacement.
Red codes extensions I actively interact with, green those I am happy to let their job silently as configured (usually default). The rest are sporadical.

Any adblocker is only as good as the filter lists it has, go to Filterlists and install the EasyList and Fanboy filters from there. They should cover most of everything. In addition there are country/language specific filters, and others to get rid of modal popups and newsletter subscriptions. With a comprehensive set of filters you don't need anything else but uBlock to filter stuff.

The only add-on I tweaked was "search image everywhere". If I remember correctly I removed some of the search options (ie. Google, Yandex etc) and added the GUID for Pale moon.
I got permission from the author to do what I wanted with the add-on. Should anyone else want to make it an official Pale moon add-on, I have uploaded the original at the foot of this post.
With regards to Decentraleyes:
I use Linux mint xfce...
I back up my profile, setting etc by copying the hidden ".moonchild production" folder onto a usb stick.
When there is a major upgrade, like there was to version 32.1.0, I do an fresh install, and simply copy the the backup folder back on to my system. This over writes the new folder, and restores add-ons/bookmarks back to the way it was. Decentraleyes continues to work when done this way.
With regards to ublock, I cant say I have noticed. If there is an ad its missed I use the "element picker" to create a new rule.
I don't use basilisk as my main browser, only as a back up browser. I have no add-ons installed on it.
Lastly, I am no expert on any of this. I have found ways that work for me. It doesn't mean they are safe or the best solutions..
