Unread post by xlolitadabananax » 2023-03-24, 11:50

Ublock origin's element picker isn't entering in to the dark shadows of element picker anymore once e.p is selected.
tested on any website.. in Palemoon v32.1.0 x64bit.

Moved to add-ons.

This would be something for the uBlock Origin dev to look at.

Are you sure? :?
AFAICS uBlock Origin's Element Picker mode works correctly here on Pale Moon 32.1.0 default profile and on a clean test profile:

uBO in Element Picker mode.png
uBO in Element Picker mode - Pale Moon 32.1.0 (64-bit) on Windows 7

Check you haven't set uBO's 'Disable cosmetic filtering' switch/option by accident?
  • uBO's overall cosmetic filtering is set via Dashboard > Settings tab > Default Behaviour > Disable cosmetic filtering.
  • uBO's 'per site' cosmetic filtering is set via the 'eye' icon - bottom of toolbar button dropdown menu - middle icon.
uBO's Wiki explains... but as I understand it the 'eye' button on the toolbar dropdown menu overrides the setting on uBO's dashboard.

Note: Current uBO versions for latest Firefox have: i) an additional 'lock/unlock padlock' switch not present in uBO Legacy v1.16.4.30... and ii) the 'Block Element' option on right-click context menu is not offered when cosmetic filtering has been disabled. Whereas, Legacy uBO always offers the 'Block Element' context menu option... even when cosmetic filtering is actually 'disabled'... which can lead to confusion when nothing happens... i.e. no "dark shadows of element picker" appear! :)

You can close this topic, i apologize, i really can't explain what happened but it seems that everything's working fine now.
sometimes when i've had pm running for so long, even other addons start to not respond, it's just that i had never experienced
it with ubo & element picker. i strangely can't explain why it happened earlier & it's now working on every website. besides
the fact i've updated pm, nothing else was done. maybe there's a conflict but it might be hard to find since it's working again.

My apologizes, i'm very confused on that one, & out of explanation.
