Pale Moon X1 theme

Unread post by PalleP » 2022-05-21, 20:53

My Pale Moon X1 light theme stoppped working with PM v.31. I have been using this eyefriendly dark theme for many years and can't find a suitable replacemennt for it.
I therefore thought about following the advices in this tread and try to learn how to make the theme work again, but it seems to me that none of the theme tools on the add-ons site have been updated to work with PM v.31.
The Pale Moon X1 theme is very old and can't be downloaded anymore, but I have it in FEBE: PaleMoonX1.persona.json
Can anyone advice me what to do? Thanks.

You are right

It didn't work after the update to v31 and looked like this:

Then I re-installed it from your link, and  it worked as usual:
PaleMoonX1a.png
Something must have corrupted the theme during the update.

It's because personas are "service themes" and Mozilla removed the persona images from their CDN. See other recent threads. It had most likely absolutely nothing to do with the update of the browser, but rather with timing and a cache refresh.
