In the options for MozArchiver a webpage can be saved in two ways: as an mht file, or as a maff file.
The benefit of using a maff file is that it "supports video and audio".
However, when I save as a maff file a webpage which contains an embedded youtube video, the youtube video itself does not get saved.
(For instance, https://www.getreligion.org/getreligion ... -giving-up).
Is this the expected behaviour for MozArchiver?
And if so, how is it that the maff format supports video and audio?
More generally, why should I choose maff over mht, when the result seems to be the same (except that the maff content is compressed)?

You can't save streamed media because it's not actually part of the page.
