Add ons completely broken in Pale Moon version 30

Unread post by spotify95 » 2022-03-21, 01:06

Hello,

I have a problem with add-ons and Pale Moon version 30.

I have discovered that my previous theme, Australis (the old Firefox look for a while) was not compatible with version 30. So I looked for a replacement theme, as I do not really like the default theme.

However, when visiting https://addons.palemoon.org/themes/ it gives a server not found error.

The same goes for the extensions page here: https://addons.palemoon.org/extensions/ it simply does not work at all, giving a server not found error. It is almost as if the browser isn`t connected to the Internet - except it is, because I am using Pale Moon to type this with no issues, and I can also access other websites.

Any idea on what is going on here?

Is Australium similar to Australis?

He's got a bunch more themes you can try out.

Thanks for the replies, I've seen that the add-ons page is back up and running, though Australis/Australium isn't compatible with version 30 and version 30 has been abandoned anyway.

I'll stay on version 30.0.1 as it's not worth the effort in trying to note down all of my open tabs and settings, reinstalling Pale Moon version 29.4.x, and then trying to recover each and every tab/browser setting (if the profile that I currently have cannot be exported to a 29.4 version). I'll update to version 31 whenever that is released - hopefully all of the version 29 add-ons will be compatible with version 31.

PM 30 profiles should work fine for PM 29.*

My advice is to make a backup of the profile, pop the latest PM 29 on, then try it. For me, everything worked except the "-fxguid" extensions, however grabbing replacements from the addons site promptly fixed this. No re-doing all my tabs or anything else like that. Took less than 10 minutes to have PM 29 fully working again with no profile issues for me.

Good news for me!

I managed to successfully downgrade from 30.0.1 to 29.4.4 (then got the update to 29.4.5 and 29.4.6) with no issues, profile in tact, all tabs and settings saved.

Last night I received the prompt stating that version 31.0 was available.

I am now running version 31 with no problems to either core functionality, personal preferences, or add-ons.

So everyone should now upgrade to PM Version 31.0 :)

Yes, a pleasant surprise to find that all of my add-ons still function after the upgrade.
As for TMP, I had the Close Tab button enabled already and so didn't notice anything.
