Calendate 4.5.1 for Pale Moon 29.2.1(64bit) Win10 Pro
Good Morning,
When my Pale Moon Win10 Pro (64bit) upgraded to 29.1, my Date Picker no longer worked so I upgraded to your Calendate 4.5.1. It installs and puts the date in the status bar like it should, but I can't seem to open it. I have looked through the 48 posts for this, but can't find an answer (threads are locked). I have looked for solutions online, but found nothing.
Help needed because I miss my Date Picker App that I have used since the early days of Firefox!
Thanks,
Cjay26

You will have to contact the developer. Information is on the Add-on's Page. Also remind him his maxVersion is insane.

The first thing I did was send a PM back0rifize on 26JUN21 and I have not heard from him :
"Good Morning, back0rifize

If you need more info, please let me know.
Thanks,"

I then contacted both Moderators of this forum and Lootyhoof suggested to create a new topic since all threads about Calendate are locked, so I did.
You said: "Also remind him his maxVersion is insane." Please explain what you mean.

Re: Calendate 4.5.1 for Pale Moon 29.2.1(64bit) Win10 Pro
On the extension page he has as the max version Pale Moon 55. As Pale Moon is only on 29.x, how can the dev know it will work on such future versions? Unless he has a DeLorean with a flux capacitor.
Re: Calendate 4.5.1 for Pale Moon 29.2.1(64bit) Win10 Pro
Thanks, ron_1. Yes, I remember that "55" and did think, aren't we are on 29.2.1? If I ever have the chance to speak to backorifize I will be sure to ask him about that!
I am looking for someone who uses Calendate 4.5.1 on Win10 to help me with the options and the "about:config:" settings. And, to understand why the backup file, calendate.sqlite says it is imported to the app correctly but I still can't open the file on my Status Bar that has the correct date from day to day.
Please help, I really miss my Date Picker App from Firefox that this replaces.
Thanks to anyone that can help with this.

I am still trying to get help with Calendate 4.5.1 for Win 10 Pro latest update. Can anyone verify that this App is actually compatible with Pale Moon 29.0 and beyond?
Any Info would be helpful!
Thanks,

Re: Calendate 4.5.1 for Pale Moon 29.2.1(64bit) Win10 Pro
I just now installed Calendate 4.5.1 to PM 29.2.1 (Win 7), and it seems to work fine here.
Clicking on the date in the status bar opens it for me (and everything else in the extension, AFAICS, works fine too).
Try the Support E-mail provided on Calendate's APMO page.

coffeebreak, the first thing I did was go to that page that has the name "kup". I have tried more than one time to connect to the link that says, "Support E-Mail" where I selected my email and it opens but there is no email info in it. That is why I PMed backorifize from this site. So, I am at a loss to know what to do next. One thing that does work occasionally, is the calculator for number of days between dates. This was not a function of my Date Picker As far as I know.
Thanks for verifying that it does work correctly on Win 7. I will keep trying to get it to work correctly!

The email link works properly for me.
But if you are having problems when you click directly, try just copying the address to fill it in manually.
(Right-click the link -> choose "Copy Email Address" from the context menu)

Thanks, coffeebreak! That worked and my email to kup is on its way. I appologize for not figuring that out for myself!!coffeebreak wrote: ↑2021-07-12, 22:44But if you are having problems when you click directly, try just copying the address to fill it in manually.

AFAIK, problem was solved, topic can be closed.
You're absolutely right! But, the thing goes that I don't see any kind of point to reload my extension every time "Pale Moon" updates to renew "maxVersion" .

Yes. My Calendate 4.5.1 is now working correctly thanks to back0rize’s help!!
So, it can be closed if you want.
Thanks for everyone’s help with getting my Calendate working!!

Milestone releases are years between for us. Unless you somehow know the future (please share with me if so!) then you can't reasonably go beyond a maxVersion that surpasses a milestone version number. so a sane maxVersion at the moment is 29.* -- Even we don't know what v30 will look like yet, let alone v55 so how can you promise to all extension users that your extension is going to be compatible with it?...back0rifize wrote: ↑2021-07-23, 11:39I don't see any kind of point to reload my extension every time "Pale Moon" updates to renew "maxVersion" .

Re: Calendate 4.5.1 for Pale Moon 29.2.1(64bit) Win10 Pro
If the cycle holds and we only go up to 29.9.1 then it will be this time next year give or take eight weeks before we were to consider 30.0.0 as the following version.
But as Moonchild said, we can't KNOW the future and reasonably predicting it is getting more troublesome as events change week to week even day to day shaping said future.
Today is such a day, btw.
Additionally, since Compatible-By-Default is still in effect maxVersion isn't much of a consern as a hard blocker except informationally unless the specific extension explicitly calls for strictCompatibility.
