Re: Deskcut
I don't know.. Is there? What does it even do? You provided no information except a name. Not even I can remember all 19 thousand Firefox Extensions.
Re: Deskcut
I put a clue in the title
Deskcut extension support was just dropped, I went back to the last Palemoon version as I cant live without putting URLs on my desktop.
Would still prefer a fix tho ?

Re: Deskcut
Deskcut adds the ability to right click on a webpage and put a shortcut to it on the desktop and there appears to be no alternative :<
Re: Deskcut
The alternative is dragging and dropping the favicon in the address bar (identity panel) to the desktop. We do have that feature for a reason
Bonus: you can also drag&drop into any folder.
I'm not sure how workable a desktop full of shortcuts (as in bookmarks) is, but to each their own, I guess.

Re: Deskcut
You can still edit the manifest to target it at Pale Moon and repackage it for your own use. Search the forums for instructions on converting extensions, it just involves changing a line in one small file.

Re: Deskcut
Thanks for replies
I have the extracted Deskcut extension but not sure what to edit, I tried increasing the max version in install.rdf file, but it still failed to install, but that was just a guess..
Is this the guide I need to follow :-
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=24824&p=194712&hili ... on#p194712
Or could you be so kind to tell me what to change so palemoon is happy ?
Thanks

Re: Deskcut
the world will not explode if I edit one extension for my own personal use woah
Re: Deskcut
I'd rather people who are interested in nothing but running Firefox extensions for themselves just fix the ID on the damn things and stop bugging us or spreading FUD that this move is somehow equivalent or heading towards Mozilla deprecating XUL.

Re: Deskcut
You can help yourself. The information is out there.
And maybe you can also help others by forking it.

Re: Deskcut
So I removed the old firefox code and added the palemoon ID.
Is this considered a fork and can I share it ?

Re: Deskcut
Is there a forking guide I may follow ? Yes I tried searching but not found anything.

Have to consider though WHAT you are forking and any future pitfalls.
