open link overlay for palemoon

Unread post by thosrtanner » 2020-03-24, 08:30

For those who use this, I've put a version of openlinkoverlay extension onto phoebus (waiting for it to be reviewed and approved, not sure how that process works). This targets palemoon and basilisk, and has fixed the incessant warnings about getBooleanPref.

I also plan to update it so that there aren't two open link in foreground tab entries and so that the "open in private window" entry will move to the submenu when it is enabled enabled.

This has now been approved (thanks JustOff) - it can be found as 'Open Link Menu' here:

He pointed out some issues that would stop it getting approved

"Here" or "Open Link Here" in the context menu probably isn't needed. "Open Link in Current Tab" already fulfills that function. Just saying.

I don't see 'open link in current tab' on either my palemoon or basilisk. I do however see open link in foreground tab twice, for which I've raised an issue in the github repo. I imagine it's different symptoms of the same issue. the code is fairly old and things have likely changed.

Been digging around a bit and tab mix plus also has this option. I'd suggest you disable the tab mix plus one for now (though I agree the wording is better).

Released version 2.0.0 - this changes the wording as above, and also has been refactored a lot, and uses the underlying browser openLinkIn code to open tabs/windows, rather than have its own copy.
