Re: MEGA Extension for Pale Moon
It won't even install under Pale Moon v28.*.
And under v27.* it shows a red dot.

It specifies strict compatibility. But it did install for me when:
\install.rdf (line 13)
Code: Select all
<em:strictCompatibility>true</em:strictCompatibility>
Code: Select all
<em:strictCompatibility>false</em:strictCompatibility>
Re: MEGA Extension for Pale Moon
(Oh, I suspect that that monstrosity of an extension doesn't actually work in PM.
PS: There is a difference between "claiming" support & actually having it.)

Re: MEGA Extension for Pale Moon
They likely think we are just Firefox or Waterfox with different branding and ctr and added a targetApplication block without bothering to actually run Pale Moon let alone trying to install and use the extension.

They didn't even bother to do that.
Re: MEGA Extension for Pale Moon
Then it isn't a Pale Moon extension and thus just meaningless lies.

Re: MEGA Extension for Pale Moon
Has anyone tried to contact them? It seems that they even have a bug report email (https://mega.nz/contact). I just send them a quick note, maybe someone else wanna join the party? It could increase our chances to get it fixed, more voices -> more reaction
Re: MEGA Extension for Pale Moon
Done. But I won't get my hopes up. Not after the negative responses I got from other developers regarding PM compatibility.tired_eyes wrote:Has anyone tried to contact them? Surprisingly, they responded:
We'll seeWe have already forwarded the issue to our developers and the fix will be include in our next release.
We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you require any further assistance please don't hesitate to contact us.
Have a MEGA-awesome day!
Re: MEGA Extension for Pale Moon
Confirmed. Version 3.47.7 is compatible with PM 28. The file size stated on the webpage is still wrong though.

Re: MEGA Extension for Pale Moon
Issues I have with this..
1) It's "Pale Moon" not Palemoon
2) Target Application Block for Pale Moon has minVersion 24.0 when the first version with our GUID was minVersion 25.0.0
3) Target Application Block for Pale Moon has maxVersion of 55.* which is ridiculous considering strictCompatiblity is still on for no real reason.
D) SeaMonkey isn't very supported at all only 2.21 (gecko/24.0) to 2.29 (gecko/31.0) which is ridiculous as well
π) The XPI File has the word "Legacy" in it

Re: MEGA Extension for Pale Moon
Well, every developer out there refers XUL extensions as "legacy".New Tobin Paradigm wrote:The XPI File has the word "Legacy" in it
Update: Shit. Logging in with the extension enabled now turns up a blank page. These MEGA developers are trolls.

Re: MEGA Extension for Pale Moon
Not so much trolls as lazy and/or incompetent. I still don't think they have once loaded up Pale Moon or been to our site or forum which explains the wrong versons and incorrect name of our browser.
Re: MEGA Extension for Pale Moon
Alright so I sent them another email, because why not? I like nagging people.
Thank you for your support and for using MEGA!
The fix will be deployed in a future update release.
Please re-try in the next several weeks.
Re: MEGA Extension for Pale Moon
Still has the blank-page issue, at least with 3.59.1 and 28.5.0.
Re: MEGA Extension for Pale Moon
The "extension" is crap. (cannot be called an extension when it does not even work update after update). Instead I'm now using their sync client for uploading files to my account.

Re: MEGA Extension for Pale Moon
I love when 6 month old threads are bumped especially when the issue has nothing to do with us.
Re: MEGA Extension for Pale Moon
Nothing? It's certainly a point of interest, isn't it? One of the few sites in the world name-checking this browser specifically for a given extension...and it doesn't work?
