Change Referer Button - changing icons

Unread post by Paradise » 2018-10-28, 14:03

I don't like the icons of Change Referer Button: https://addons.palemoon.org/addon/chang ... er-button/

Is it possible to add the icons from Toggle Referer: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... e-referer/

I was looking into it myself but "Change Referer Button" does not have the icons in the xpi.
Toggle Referer just has a images folder with the icons.

Change Referer Button has its content inside a JAR file.
You can probably unpack it, change the files and then repack it, but there's no guarantees that it will really work as intended.

If the replacement image is the same size as the original, just changiing the image would probably work. If the size is different, you would need to edit the stylesheet that puts the image in place in order to correct the display size.

Didn't know you just can unpack the jar file.
For "Change Referer Button" you need to make a new image.

To bad there is no github for this extension to ask the developer if he would include the other icons.

In Mozilla-based applications, a .jar file is basically just a .zip file with a different extension. You can use most any old zip utility to open or change them.

Off-topic:
JAR is an acronym for Java ARchive.
