Browser extensions & PM 28 Win x64
Some time ago, I believe there were issues involving many extensions and 64-bit PM for Windows. I also realize that much work has been done many PM extensions. What is the general state of PM extensions WRT PM Win x64?
Re: Browser extensions & PM 28 Win x64
I'm on win 8.1(x64) PM 28.1(x64) and every extension I have or have tried works as it should...

Re: Browser extensions & PM 28 Win x64
There are extensions that are limited to 32 bit browsers. Such as "Print pages to PDF".
Read the limitations.

Thank you. You have prompted me to notice that compatibility info appears to be provided for almost every extension.
EDIT: Oh, wait, that's PM version compatibility, not x64 compatibility. I wonder how to obtain that information for all the PM extensions. Perhaps it should be added to the data provided on the right-hand side of each extension page. Just a thought.

When it comes to extensions, the Pale Moon version is enough.VLMin wrote:Thank you. You have prompted me to notice that compatibility info appears to be provided for almost every extension.

Maybe you're thinking of plugins.
Re: Browser extensions & PM 28 Win x64
Plugins (e.g. Flash, Java) and some extensions (e.g. Print Pages to PDF) do have binary components that only work on specific operating systems and architectures (e.g. Windows x86, Windows x64, Linux x64). Usually the author will release multiple versions that support the most common architectures, but it's up to the user to install the correct one.
The general state of extensions for Pale Moon is what has been posted elsewhere - extensions targeting Pale Moon are generally recommended over ones targeting Firefox for stability reasons. The Firefox add-on compatibility was provided as a convenience, but this does not guarantee that they will work. Firefox extensions will likely need to be ported and updated as Pale Moon continues to diverge from the Mozilla codebase.

Re: Browser extensions & PM 28 Win x64
Thank you. I did mean extensions specifically, and it's true that my technical understanding here is not great. I'm just trying to decide whether to switch from x32 to x 64 Pale Moon. I still do use a few older Firefox extensions, but that list is shrinking.vannilla wrote:When it comes to extensions, the Pale Moon version is enough.

Is it possible to install both PM x32 and PM x64 on the same system, even if they are not run at the same time?

Easy enough to use a portable version for testingVLMin wrote:Is it possible to install both PM x32 and PM x64 on the same system, even if they are not run at the same time?

Ah, that's the ticket, thank you!
Re: Browser extensions & PM 28 Win x64
Another good reason to switch to X64, is that it can handle big graphic heavy sites fairly easily - YMMV, but one poster said his 32bit Pale Moon 'instantly collapses' on the site
