Uninstalled extension data remaining in about:config
First I installed ABPrime, then I replaced it with UBlock Origin.
However I notice this line in about:config: "extensions.abprime.currentVersion;1.0.7"
I don't think it should be there as I uninstalled ABPrime, but maybe it doesn't do any harm either.
Should I delete tihs line, or leave it?

Re: Uninstalled extension data remaining in about:config
It's normal for extensions to leave behind preferences in about:config, and it's actually beneficial if you decide to reinstall the extension later. However, if you are certain that the preference is controlled by an extension you no longer use and do not wish to use in the foreseeable future, you may delete it.

You should install this addon to remove all leftover lines in preferences when you uninstall an addon.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... uninstall/
You can also use this one to remove leftovers that are there now. I would be careful if you use this.

about:config
right-click on the preference name and select : Reset
now the value is empty and the full line will be removed once PM restarts

Re: Uninstalled extension data remaining in about:config
best practice: install the Clean Uninstall addon that bill linked, reinstall your old extensions and then remove them again. this time Clean Uninstall will kick in and delete all the leftover extension-specific configs remaining
Re: Uninstalled extension data remaining in about:config
I don't know if the addon is working with PM 28 but the last version (0.2) has a problem with PM 27 :
https://github.com/rNeomy/clean-uninstall/issues/13
so maybe (if working with PM 28) the version 0.19 would be an easier and better choice for PM

edit : you can install v.0.2 easily on PM28

Re: Uninstalled extension data remaining in about:config
I installed 0.2 on August 26 2017 and I have not had any issues with it on either 27 or 28. May be a linux specific issue.Nightbird wrote:I don't know if the addon is working with PM 28 but the last version (0.2) has a problem with PM 27 :
