Video download extension for Pale Moon
I always used Video Downloadhelper on Firefox and it worked very well.
On Pale Moon however it doesn't and PM has its own video download extension (whose name I forgot). I tried to use it but it didn't work. I don't know why, and I don't know why it is still featured on the PM extensions page.
It just doesn't work. There is this little rotating thingy which goes on and on and that's all that's happening.
What is your own experience?

Re: Video download extension for Pale Moon
I am using to getting my extensions via the addons.mozilla.org site but nowadays this is getting harder and harder as I understand there are not many left that are compatible with PM, and now with vs. 28 it's a real problem as I suppose there are none left. Or am I wrong?therube wrote:FlashGot (& an external download manager, in my case).
But I will try this.

Re: Video download extension for Pale Moon
"Legacy" extensions, in theory, should be "compatible" with PM.not many left that are compatible with PM
As far as AMO, It's not really to do about being "compatible" with PM.
It is about Mozilla's arrogance
It is about Mozilla no longer allowing "legacy" extensions
It is about Mozilla no longer even allowing existing legacy extensions to update via AMO
It is about Mozilla (shortly) removing legacy extensions, entirely
It is about extension writers abandoning Mozilla (rightfully so) with Quantum's appearance
(Except for the few who stuck it out, all that is left on AMO is malware, of which Mozilla is a purveyor of.)

There are those that still work, but it's trial and error to find oneprosecco wrote:I am using to getting my extensions via the addons.mozilla.org site but nowadays this is getting harder and harder as I understand there are not many left that are compatible with PM, and now with vs. 28 it's a real problem as I suppose there are none left. that still works. Not only that, but very soon those add on's will no
longer be there. There is some work being done by those here to make
it possible to still get those add on's, but it's a work in progress.
But since it's not the task of Pale Moon to make F.F. extensions work with
a browser that it was never designed for, then it's our job to get them to
work or fork if allowed.

I have the idea that in theory this shouldn't be too hard if you know a bit about coding (and even this maybe isn't really required). After all, there are many existing extensions out there you can easily take apart and look at their insides which are not that complicated. But you have to have some time to devote to it.
