need alternatives to these addons or...

Unread post by porotikos » 2018-09-19, 23:48

Hi there
since i am in an "update" mode, i started checking palemoon. i have some addons installed that have an orange dot next to them. this means (i think) that they are no longer supported.
so, what id like to ask for is, if there is an "official" palemoon supported addon that would do the job, or if there is a place i can download newer version of this addon (is there a place i can check?)
thank you
ill list the unsupported addons along with their version number

check4change 1.9.8.3 (seems to work?)
empty cache button 2.6.1-signed.1-signed (doesnt work for sure)
foobar controls 0.3.6
google search link fix 1.4.9.1-signed
session manager 0.8.1.7
reloadall! 0.9.7.1-signed.1-signed
tab control 0.7.8.2

These addons are less important but nevertheless...
restartless restart 9.1-signed.1-signed
roomy bookmarks toolbar 1.4.4.1-signed
muter 1.0.3

also, since i read here about this addon, where can i find it?
Lazarus: Form Recovery

if someone can provide a link to where i can check for updated unsupported addons like these, id be grateful. cheers guys

No, it simply means that the add-on is made for Firefox without regard for Pale Moon. A blue dot means an add-on is specifically made for Pale Moon. If they work, there's no need to update, unless you want to.

I may be wrong, but didn't Mozilla start to delete all legacy add-ons recently?
(You are aware that Pale Moon does not support webextensions?)

If that's the case, I'd suggest the OP get on it, and also save the .xpi files (and not just "install" the add-ons).

Aren't the xpi's "saved" when the addons are installed?

I suppose so, but what, if anything, would happen to them if PM's profile got corrupted? Backup, backup. ;)

Scroll down on the add-on's page; on the left you will see the link "See all versions." Click that. (It's under the section titled More information.)

There's an extension that exports installed extensions to file as .xpi:
https://realityripple.com/Software/Mozi ... ns/ExtExp/
Could be handy to have it in the repository.
Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. Comodo Internet security or Comodo Firewall + Avira Anivirus.

The above will install and should be updated and tried before Moz removes them from AMO.

Also this is pulled from AMO: roomy bookmarks toolbar 1.4.4.1-signed Not sure what it does.
I use: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... olbarplus/

The link to Lazarus Form Recovery from above shows the software has been removed from the Mosilla list. Can someone provide a source of the version that works on Palemoon?
