Anybody getting any of the url redirector extensions to work?
Anybody had any luck getting any of the url redirector extensions to work? I saw this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=46&t=13464&p=95472&hili ... tor#p95472
on Redirector v2.9.3 from Mozilla, but that is like several of the similar extensions at Mozilla with settings dialogs that look look just alike and are all totally unresponsive to buttons I click or fields I attempt to type in. I even tried cussin' 'em.

Re: Anybody getting any of the url redirector extensions to work?
Did you try 3.2.1?
Re: Anybody getting any of the url redirector extensions to work?
No. It says it's incompatible. If you're getting it to work, I'll try it. Do I need to extract and edit it or is there an easy to force it to install?therube wrote:Did you try 3.2.1?
Thanks.

Re: Anybody getting any of the url redirector extensions to work?
No I never tried it.
And I didn't realize the date when I looked.
And it is a webextension, so forgetaboutit, not going to work in PM.
3.0.4, says its a Jetpack/SDK, & that won't take either.
(I guess that's right. No sure off hand where PM stands with Jetpack?)
So that puts us back to 2.9.3 .
And what was the original problem?
(I don't know if I'm setting up the URLs correctly?
Anyhow when I test, I get:
Adding http:// gets rid of that error.
But the site is https:// .
And with https://, still not getting a redirect.
[I very well could still be doing something wrong.])

Re: Anybody getting any of the url redirector extensions to work?
So you DID get it to work. Or at least to respond somehow. OK. Hmmm. I'll try running a clean default profile in a terminal and install it in that. That may give me a hint. For me, when I open the preferences from about:addons I get a gui interface but it is unresponsive. Oh, I see a little animation of the buttons when I click them, but that's it. There is what I presume is an entry field but it won't accept a cursor or let me type there, nor does it show any output.
If you've gotten it to work, it's worth pursuing. I like to make sure there's at least a coon in the woods before I sit under a tree and bark all night. Thanks.

That didn't do it. Still the same. I presume the half dozen or so similar extensions at moz that have identical prefs dialogs are forks of one ancestor. And maybe they something in common that doesn't like linux. There are a few extensions like that.
Thanks for your help.

A fix to the extension was needed, viewtopic.php?p=153200#p153200.

Try Skip Redirect version 1.0.7. Click "Download anyway" to download from AMO. Install the downloaded Skip Redirect xpi file in Pale Moon 28.

Thank you, gents. I tried the solution therube pointed to, and it works great.
