Want to talk about NoScript? Post here.

Since people apparently don't feel satisfied about how the forum is run, we've decided to approach this differently.

All wild threads about NoScript have been merged into this one. If you want to post, argue, discuss, complain, or otherwise write anything about NoScript in Pale Moon, NoScript as a solution, NoScript vs. community input or NoScript's nature and its success/failure, workarounds, issues, the blocklist warning and support available or not available, then post in this thread. Also if you need help with NoScript installed in your browser and running into issues.

If it is in any way related to NoScript, this thread is the place to post it.

Do not create other topics about NoScript, please. Moderators would prefer to be spared the extra work of merging them in.

Welcome.

If you'd looked at Recent Posts, Active Topics or done a search you'd have found the reasoning behind the default disabling of NoScript and methods to re-enable it without also forcing Pale Moon to disable the Blocklist completely. Try reading this Topic.

Yes, I've read this topic before - viewtopic.php?f=46&t=17619

But I did not understand how to solve NS again.
Explain in more detail how to do this, please step by step.

Where you would normally go to change settings for Add-ons on FF-based browsers: (Alt >) Tools > Add-ons and change the settings for NoScript; a browser restart might also be required.

Moonraker: It turns out such a strange help to people you put in a difficult position because of your ban NoScript?
This is very unkind of you.

Instead, it is better to make FAQ to solve this problem, which many people are trying to solve.

Press CTRL+SHIFT+A; brings up the "Add-ons Manager".
Highlight the NoScript extension and enable it.

All fixed.

I changed the setting of the NoScript and overloaded the Moon, but the NoScript still does not work

Press CTRL+SHIFT+A; brings up the "Add-ons Manager".
Highlight the NoScript extension and enable it.
I did this, but the "Enable" button is missing. There are only 3 buttons: Settings, Disable, Delete

If the "Disable" button is showing then NoScript must still be enabled.

It's pretty hard to disable something that is not enabled.

Your joke is good :) But the whole problem is that although the NoScript is enabled, he really does not work. He stopped working.
If NoScript really worked, I would not ask for your help.

First a couple of questions if you don't mind.

Do you still have that "guns.allzip.org" page open?
If so, I suggest you close it and let the system settle down.

Why do you think NoScript has stopped working?

It wasn't ment as a Joke.

Might check under "Options" (Settings).
Maybe this is the very reason that NoScript is on the blocklist.

I cannot read Russian, but it looks like the bottom entry, "Allow Scripts Globally (dangerous)" is enabled. Try clicking that one.

Yes, you correctly understood this inscription - "Allow Scripts Globally (dangerous)" :)

But I never turn he on. It's dangerous, and I'm afraid of it :?

But it actually looks like it is enabled when it shouldn't be. Look at mine:

I think that "Allow Scripts Globally (dangerous)" is not enabled

if you click on it (in order to enable it), you will get a warning : scripts are going to be allowed globally... do you want really to proceed ? ok / cancel

Please stop making a mountain out of a molehill. Level 1 is a warning level with recommendation to disable the extension. That is all. Nobody is forcing you to disable it, and you have your free choice to keep using it, or to accept the recommendation and use something else.

I'm overreacting and leaving because NoScript.

Why is my topic closed?? viewtopic.php?f=46&t=19115

Do not you want to help solve the problem? Then the person who banned NoScript in PaleMoon is an idiot who created unnecessary problems for people :x

So, therefore, I will not use the PaleMoon, I go back to FireFox.

In FireFox the Noscript works fine!

Need for NoScript is a failure of browser community

The need for NoScript add on to exist is rooted in a failure of browser community to protect user privacy from advertisers. Yes, browser community did not create million tracking embedded elements in every site. They didn't create auto play advertisements that follow you between websites. The certainly didn't create Peeping Zuck and his Facebook.

But you allowed these abuses to stand. Ironically, only Chrome seems to be making any kind of effort to stem the tide of sewage that is unfiltered web browsing.

So people resort to drastic measures like NoScript to retain control of their browsing experience. If you did a better job curbing abuses. Instead you chose to focus on how fast websites load (plenty fast for the last DECADE) and how much RAM browser take (I have plenty to waste!).

It is unfortunate that Pale Moon chose to blacklist NoScript instead of being proactive in addressing the underlying reasons why people feel the need to use it.

So how about stopping auto play HTML5 videos by default? How about preventing cross-domain JS? How about doing something about browser fingerprinting (https://panopticlick.eff.org/) ?!
