Does anyone know an add-on that still works with pale moon or in general that allows for youtube video's to be downloaded?
(complete youtube saver doesn't work anymore)

NetVideohunter (Last Updated: Nov. 10, 2015), still works for some video's on youtube but a lot it will not even notice being visited by the browser. This one and Youtube MP3 Podcaster not working anymore made look for alternatives in the first place but by then the development on Complete Youtube Saver had already been halted and of course it didn't continue to function for very long after that.

You have some of them in AMO (mostly older XUL versions):
- Ant Video Downloader v. 2.4.7.50,
- Video Downloader professional v. 1.97.37.1-signed.1-signed,
- Video DownloadHelper v. 6.3.1 (this runs when installed via Moon Tester Tool)

For me, the most convenient for YouTube is the extension "Download YouTube Videos as MP4" v. 1.8.10 (Some time ago I downloaded it from AMO, but now I see, it is no longer available there).

I think with the older versions it's just a matter of time before they break down as well when yt changes things around again and their functionality suffers. So I think I'm better of for now to stick with the stand alone app I found a while ago, 3dyd. And keep my fingers crossed that complete youtube saver comes back some day.
