the dot colors in the Extensions tab

Unread post by extra_D_string » 2018-03-06, 19:16

What are those dot colors when we view an extension in the Addons - Extensions page?

Tools; Addons; Extensions -
There are a couple of extensions there shown installed. One has a green dot, and another has an orange dot. What do these mean. They are recently installed, as is the copy of Pale Moon, just downloaded and installed yesterday. Both done through the pale moon addons page.

"Blue-dot-extensions" have a Pale Moon application block inside their install.rdf files.
They specifically target Pale Moon for installability.

Extensions with an orange dot lack the Pale Moon application block. These extensions are able to install because the install.rdf contains a Firefox application block.

Searching the forum (or looking through the FAQ section) will answer your question:

You can also mouse over the dots to get a pop-up description.

Mouse Hover over the dots would also reveal their purpose as the tooltips are:
orange wrote:This add-on targets Mozilla Firefox and runs in compatibility mode
blue wrote:This add-on directly targets Pale Moon
