Send video to Kodi?

Unread post by bernid » 2018-02-21, 21:00

Hi,
I have a relatively weak system and playing HD video content (eg YouTube) using browser (Palemoon) is a demanding task for my computer. Playing the same HD content on Kodi (with full hardware support) goes smoothly (with good frame refresh rate synhro without tearing and without glitches).

There are extensions for Firefox such :
Send to Kodi and
Play to Kodi
which 'send' links/url from browser to Kodi.

Is it possible to port one of those extension to Palemoon?
I think that many users would benefit from this.

About Send to Kodi, did you try the version 2.3.4 ?
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... /versions/

Yes, I tried.
Unfortunately I receive message from my system (WIN 7 64):

Code: Select all

Send to Kodi cannot be installed since is Jetpack/SDK extention which is not supported by Palemoon 27.7.2
Instalation of newer version of this extention ends with:

Code: Select all

Extention cannot be installed since Palemoon doesn't support Webextensions

Indeed jetpack is not supported in PM.

Save the add on Send to Kodi v 2.3.4 somewhere (right click and "save link as").

Then install this other add on :
https://addons.palemoon.org/addon/moon-tester-tool/

When this one is installed, open the add ons manager and find the Moon Tester Tool, then => options => install test addon => select file => select send_to_kodi-2.3.4-fx.xpi that you saved somewhere on your pc => install now.

Once installed, try it (it can work but that cannot be guaranteed).

edit : you can't install a newer version, they are web extensions that PM doesn't support.
