print-pages-to-pdf

Unread post by tlaloc77 » 2017-11-21, 02:36

I was looking at this add-on, the compatibility is given as "Pale Moon 25.0 to 26.*"

It uses http://wkhtmltopdf.org/ which is available for windows, Linux and OSX in 32 and 64 bit, but the add-on is only available for Windows 32 bit. The Add-on Homepage http://printpagestopdf.de.vu/ appears to be unreachable.

Now what?

To my great sadness, it is true. I finally just gave up using it, as it simply does not work in V27 at all.

I ended up just using this add on. pdfit 1.15.1-signed.1-signed
I also use Bullzip on my computer so that I can print straight from the the print dialog on PM.

When PM print doesn't render properly I then use the first mentioned one.
Neither are as good as printpagestopdf was, but what can you do.

That made me look! Yes, I have printpagestopdf v0.5.0.2.1 and it works.
I can't remember if it was necessary to edit the .rdf, though.

Hmmm, perhaps I need to give that version a try. It would be great to have it back.

Well, his site is not working, does anybody have a copy?

Ummm, what's wrong with all the normal print-to-PDF options like Cute PDF Writer, or PDFCreator?
Sure, they aren't browser plugins, but they'll take anything you can print, and give you a PDF instead...

I have Print pages to PDF 0.5.0.2.1.xpi - about 7.5MB that I could e-mail to you.

Also try some alternatives (I might try some of these, as PPTPDF does the whole tab as one sheet and it's often too small. I use PDF Factory Pro as it's the most useable that I've found - costs Moneys, though.

I tried that version some time back, Print pages to Pdf 0.5.0.6 and it didn't seem to work correctly. I think PM 27.1.

I too have been looking for a Pale Moon way to get webpages to pdf. Print Friendly & PDF Bookmarklet is something I've been using successfully for some time on my MacBook Pro. I'm quite satisfied with it. Out of desperation I went to their site https://www.printfriendly.com/extensions/other, followed the instructions by dragging it to my PM toolbar where it now sits. I tried it with a couple of random sites and it performs just as it does on my Mac.

Hmmm... According to the webpage, the extension's developer is Robert Hawkins, but in the extension itself, it says the developer is Manish Patel and points to a different webpage.

This is just perfect! It converts the webpage, taking only the texts and images, resulting in a clean-looking PDF file. Finally, good riddance, Save as PDF (1.5.1).

There's also the excellent Print Edit.
