TwoTankAmin, updating from 4.0.1 does not disable any filters in EasyList for me.
I tested on a loaded profile (multiple filter lists; lots of other extensions), and also a fresh profile, newly installed ABL with just EasyList (no other extensions). Nothing got disabled.

I don't know why your filters were disabled.
Presumably you either disabled them yourself and forgot (that happens more than people like to think), or (rare) they were disabled by an anti-adblock script on some site (I believe I've seen this occur once). If some other reason is possible, it's not one I'm personally familiar with.

Have you tried making a copy of your portable version, and testing updating ABL with that?

If you care to know which filters were disabled, open the Filter Preferences as mentioned earlier and sort on the Enabled column in the right-hand pane.

To roll back to v4.0.1, go to ABL's landing page, there's a link there to 4.0.1.
After rolling back, you might need to restart the browser to restore the toolbar button.

(Be aware for the future that 4.0* won't be compatible with Pale Moon on the uxp platform: Pale Moon 28.)

it appears as it the issues are filter bypasses? I have no clue how I got them, I do not do porn sites and the other one no clue either. Here is what I am seeing. I can not figure out how to delete this stuff if I should. I have removed ABL and reinstalled it on the H D and they arestill there back. Here is what I am seeing
ABLissue.jpg
I also too a look deeper at the portable P M with ABL 4.0.1 and when I did the list of red items was pretty long, not just what is above.. So I updated that version to 5. It did not say any filters were not enabled. Most of the list vanished and what remained was identical to the image above.

Also, I I did click the fix to enable the filters in my H D version and was notified they had been, Then I checked and found the above.

I'm not sure what you mean by "filter bypasses", but maybe the following will help...

The 'red' filters seen in your screenshot are not related to the red warning you saw earlier on EasyList.

That warning referred to filters that were valid, syntactically understood by ABL - but that were manually disabled.
In the Filter Preferences right-hand pane, those filters would have appeared greyed out, their checkbox(es) unticked.

But these other filters, the ones in red letters, are red because ABL doesn't recognize/understand them.
(Those in the screenshot are $webrtc filters.)
They have no checkbox to enable/disable them. It's not possible to delete them, but they don't need to be, ABL ignores them.
The list in v4.0.1 was longer btw because 4.0.1 didn't recognize as many kinds of filters as does v5.0*.
Here, two filters were manually disabled.

Lastly, concerning the filter in the screenshot that's related to a porn site...
That has no relationship to you or your browsing. The contents of a list are the same for every subscriber.

@coffeebreak

Ty for the help. Just to be 100% sure I understand this. Those red things are not a worry in that they do not mean stuff is able to block being filtered, rather it is a filter that is working but is unknown to ABL.

What has me confused is first they are in red letters which normally means "danger." But also there is no way to remove them or deactivate them which makes me think something bad is afoot. Finally, how did they even get there in the first place?

This is my biggest beef about the whole state of the digital age. The hardware and software has become so complex and convoluted that we, the avaeage users, have almost no control and no real idea of what is actually going on. It is impossible for the average user actually to be able to protect their privacy and data with certainty. We have no clue what is up. The best defense I have been able to devise is to refrain for doing what most people do on the net. For example, my Facebook data could not be compromised for only one reason, I refuse to participate on social media.

No, that's not the case.
If the adblocker (ABL or any other) does not recognize/parse a filter, that filter does not work.

But these particular ones are WebRTC filters, so it's a non-issue for Pale Moon.
Because Pale Moon does not support WebRTC - no WebRTC connections even exist to filter.
(See here; and here):

"The following features have been disabled or removed by design: [...]
  • WebRTC. Apart from opening up a whole can of worms security/privacy-wise, "Web Real Time Chat" (comparable with Skype video calls and the likes) is not considered useful or desired functionality for Pale Moon (both according to the developers and the users of the browser at large). This is best left to dedicated programs or at most a browser plug-in."

TwoTankAmin wrote:Finally, how did they even get there in the first place?

AFAIK, EasyList's WebRTC filters work only with chromium browsers (see 1, 2, 3).

There are not different versions of EasyList for different browsers.
So, everyone who uses the list gets everything it contains.

TYVM again for the explanation. Now I understand it. I got really worried something nasty had found its way onto my PC.

(I was just wondering if the TS is aware of Ublock Origin as it seems to me to be the superior add blocking add-on available these days)
