Palemoon 5-6-7 crash on fresh install of FireShot 0.93

Post by lyceus » 2011-10-02, 04:43

Hi!

There is an issue with FireShot 0.93 plugin. I install a fresh copy of this plugin and restart, then go to the Add-ons Manager and select "options" for Fireshot. This hangs the browser and made it crash. You actually need to close the program from Windows Task Manager and hunt down all palemoon* images, since the browser do not start again otherwise. So far the plugin do not start even but palemoon shows it as installed.

Tested in 2 machines:

OS: Windows XP SP2 x64
Hardware: AMD Phenom X4 + 8 GB
RAM: 8 GB

OS: Windows XP SP3 LatinAmerican
Hardware: Intel Atom + 2 GB RAM
RAM: 2 GB

Palemoon versions tested: 4-5-6-7

Any clue what happens? :wtf:

I can't reproduce this error myself. It seems to be have just fine and doesn't hang the browser.
Can you check if it happens on a new Pale Moon profile as well? If not, then you may have some errant configuration parameters of Fireshot in your current profile that you should remove (you may have to do it manually if uninstalling the add-on doesn't clean them up)

Oddly one add-on you suggested fixed the trouble: Better Privacy unlocks Fireshot otherwise it hangs. Maybe ghostery + abp made the trouble. I need to check it more.
