is there any extension or userscript limiting history (eg. removing entries if 30 days old)?

I have used Expire History by Days since FireFox removed that ability from the browser. I am still using it in P M 27.4.2. I have version 1.1.1 signed. I cannot remember if I needed the Moon Tester tool to get it. Look here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/expire-history-by-days/?src=ss

Nope, 1.1.1-signed works just fine in PM 27.4.2 without the Moon Tester Tool. Unfortunately it looks like AMO removed all of the older versions prior to 1.2.0.

Looking to the sources I guess 1.2.0 should work fine when installed using MTT.

I got 1.1.1 before our good friends at Mozilla decided their were more ways to screw those who voted with their feet when Australis and all that has come since chased away over twp thirds of the FF user base. I do not consider this to be an insult to Mozilla. The changes they decided to make and the subsequent user loss they suffered because of it is their own doing. They got what they asked for.

People used FF because it was FF, when it stopped and tried to be like something else, people just went with the real something else.

Why do most of us use P M? Its simple for me, I will not use Chrome, IE and even if I used Win 10, I would never use Edge. I have never owned anything made by Apple so i cannot comment on their browser and OS. When I had to stop using the one realistic alternative which used to be FF.

I see they're up to 1.3.1.

I personally use Places Maintenance 1.3.1 to keep my history database tidy. It works like a charm.

Expire By Days 1.1.1 here.

It'd be nice to see a little blue dot next to it instead of an orange one, though. Ditto https everywhere and FlagFox. We're already stuck on old versions in many cases, and Mozilla is going to pull the rug out from under the AMO on non-WebExtension stuff sooner or later. We all know it's coming.

I set it up to '2 days' to test and after few days I checked, indeed history expired after 2 days.
then I set it to 20 days.
recently I changed to '1 day' but the history didnt vanish so I removed all history manually and I kept it it '1 day'
after few days it was working fine, when I press CTRL+H I can only see TODAY,YESTERDAY.
But today I installed pale moon on linux box and after sync I can see TODAY, YESTERDAY, LAST DAYS, THIS MONTH (on linux box)
which means I can only delete history locally? :?

I found I can change the Min Version and install as recent as 1.3.0. 1.3.1 seems to use something in place of install.rdf so I don't know how to tweak that.
That said, once 1.3.0 is install, I can't find the settings for it. 1.2.1 could be the last working version when tweaked.

That would be because 1.3.1 is a WebExtension.

new install PM 27.7.1 linux x64
Expire History version 1.2.0 doesn't work, 1.2.1 does.
