Favicon Bookmark Changing Topic is solved

For several years I have been using an Add-On/Extension called "Bookmark Favicon Changer," however it is not possible to install in Pale Moon and looks to go away in Firefox 57.

I use this for adding a bookmark icon for some sites that display a blank favicon on my Favorites/Bookmarks toolbar in Firefox and especially for a Folder that contains a group of bookmarks. I have not been able to install/import the Bookmark Favicon Changer Add-On even though it is still an active viable Add-On in Firefox 55.0.1 (66 bit).

In order to install Bookmark Favicon Changer into Pale Moon you need first download it to you disk and then drag and drop it to Add-ons Manager.

When I attempt to drag-and-drop or install via the Gear's "Install Add-on From File" the following message appears as shown in the attached image.

I am using the most current version of Pale Moon on Win7 Pro.

NOTE: I downloaded the xpi file again and it installed successfully.

Probably the extension was really corrupted, try to re-download bookmarkfaviconchanger229.xpi from Older version page on MediaFire.

Now that the Add-On is added, it is exhibiting behavior opposite of Firefox in displaying the Name of the website.

In Firefox the name of the website can be deleted or modified by right clicking on the icon to bring up its properties and the icon and name text would display. In Pale Moon, the default is for no text to display for the icon unless it is a folder icon. How does one modify the text of one's choosing to display next to the icon?

Your description of the issue is unclear to me, perhaps screenshots could help. In any case I think you better ask the add-on's author.

In comparing my Win10 laptop and Win7 desktop I discovered the discrepancy -- a check box in the Add-On, "Roomy Bookmarks Toolbar."

God to see that this AddOn is not unknown here.
Now with PaleMoon 28 it has lost all of its functions: No more changing nor exporting of favicons.

The AddOns seems to be abandoned by the developer. There is an experimental AddOn for Firefox (Favicon Customizer), but not compatible wit PaleMoon.
Is there a way to get the old functions back?

Export never worked for me. As for favicons changing - it works fine here on PM 28.

Which version do you use?

With the last version 2.29 exporting favicons (as .png-file) always worked without problems for me. But with upgrading to PaleMoon 28 the extension does nothing anymore.
