Re: Add-ons don't seem to be updating automatically
I always manually check for add-on updates, but have modified the about:config entry anyway. Also, currently experimenting with Add-on Update Checker 2.1 which has several configuration options and apparently works independently of the built in add-on checker Might be worth a look, here is the link for reviews and download: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... e-checker/

Hope this function will be fixed soon and we'll can know the real reason it doesn't work, if it's due to a decision of AMO's server admins or just a temporary bug.

PM still seems to not automatically update add-ons.
Or, perhaps, PM is simply set to check for updates only once in a blue moon and not every day like FF is?

Re: Add-ons don't seem to be updating automatically
I just checked and verified, and it works as it should. I had one outdated add-on in my list that was indicated as having an update available. I didn't manually install the update, but instead switched on automatic updating in the drop-down. I also set the checking interval to a minute, so i didn't have to wait too long. Closed the browser, restarted it, and opened the add-on manager. It showed the old extension. I waited a minute, and the extension was automatically downloaded and updated. I was using the Pale Moon default settings for URLs.
Automatic updating by default checks once every 86400 seconds (once a day) for updated add-ons. If they are found, they are automatically downloaded and installed. So, make sure your add-ons are not manually set to not update (try resetting all add-ons from the menu "Reset all add-ons to update automatically").
