After the Deadline.

First and foremost, I would like to big-up Moonchild's shoes and socks. Even though his technical talk often flies way above my head, I appreciate the fact we're in good hands here. I very much admire his philosophy, some may say he is a modest, open, rational, intellectual being and I tend to agree. The marvels of Pale Moon are something to behold.

With the brown nosing out the way, I'd like to draw attention to a slight niggle that I have been experiencing ...

I am a user of 'After the Deadline' plug-in. Although it has been working with no issues, up until Pale Moon 15.0 was released, I am now finding the plug-in doesn't work in certain situations. I have noticed that if I have a single window open and I am constructing a post on a forum, the plug-in doesn't work. However, should I open a secondary window, using the relevant url, the plug-in comes to life.

I am aware that the respective provider may not be up to speed with developments, but I just wanted to give Moonchild a 'heads up' with regards to this issue.

Keep up the good work Moonchild, you're a star.


P.S. After firefox's recent security issue, I spread the word about Pale Moon and you now have more users of your excellent browser.

Did this happen only in PaleMoon or happens too FireFox? You can try also report this to the pluing dev team since they are more in hurry to fix bugs in FireFox and later in other browsers.

I have just opened up firefox, which needed an update since the last time I used it was 14.0.1, and the plug-in worked. I then closed firefox and opened up the same website with Pale Moon. The plug-in did not work first time around. However, when I opened a secondary tab, the plug-in sprung to life.

In the meantime, I shall contact the developer of the plug-in and share my findings.

I contacted After the Dealine and their response was;

"After the Deadline isn't really under active development at the moment, but you might want to sign up for the developers mailing list for information on updates:

Let me know if there's anything else I can help with!"


I guess that unless an active development is undertaken by moonchild, then the add-on will not work as intended.

This means either ...

i) continue with the workaround

ii) moonchild develops the add-on.

iii) I brush up on my grammar, just like they did back in the days of pen and paper!

Of course, I would like option (ii) but realise moonchild is at the coal face. So I can deal with options (i) and (iii)

Unless, if there is a great demand for AtD then perhaps a contribution based development could proceed, just an idea?

(ii) Isn't feasible for me, sorry.
You'll have to live with (i) or (iii) or maybe (iv) you or a friend of yours who can program has a look at the add-on; most add-ons aren't extremely complex and created with some javascript and maybe some XML.
