Clean Flash Player

Unread post by teknixstuff » 2025-01-30, 10:57

Since there isn't any official way to easily install Adobe's updated Flash Player 34.x, I've packaged it into an extension instead, so that you can easily install it without ending up with the "Flash Helper Service" and/or "Flash Center" adware that you would get using Adobe's provided installers.

I don't think this will be published at addon site since this is at very least legally dubious.

To wit: Adobe DMCAd Clean Flash repo on GitHub.

Good point actually, I hadn't thought of that... sorry.

I could always host this one myself and just get it indexed on the addons site I guess? That should solve the DMCA issue afaik.

Sorry but we won't be linking it as an external either if it's obviously breaking copyright. We'd still be an enabler and subject to takedown requests.

Thanks for your submission but it will be removed from the addons site. While the surrounding code might be MIT, the embedded flash player is proprietary and Adobe doesn't allow embedding or redistribution this way.
