obsolete reverse image search google add-on extension xpi :(
It is to fry in hell, simply successfully tested Tineye Reverse Image Search 1.2.2 from the CA archive - Fine thing, does the job for.
Then I tried a dozen unsuccessfully for Google - if someone who knows a functional XPI who even does this job, please contact

The Pale Moon addon site has an extension called Image Search Options. That one gives the option to have 8+ different image search engines, including Tin Eye and Google Images, available for a reverse image search. However, the Google option no longer works. Just takes you to the Google Image landing page. But, there is a two-click option. Right click the image, select ImgOps to do the search, that will load their page, where you can click on Google, and it will take you to Google Images and load the pic for you.

It does let you edit the parameters of the search string, so it may be fixable. I haven't had time to play with it.

Next time you need an extension, look on the Pale Moon addons site first. There's plenty of original extensions and forks of popular old Firefox ones. Better than clinging onto an abandoned and possibly broken Firefox one.

The Image Search Options add-on is great and there is a way to edit its settings to make Google Images work better: viewtopic.php?f=46&t=29083&p=233927
But looks like recently Google rolled out another update, and now image source results load in a useless sidebar. Does anyone know what to do to get the option back to show actual Google results with the links to the actual images?

Anyone else using the Image Search add-on? https://addons.palemoon.org/addon/image-search-options/
Can't find a way to bypass Google Lens and get normal results. Any help with the tweaking of the options would be appreciated. The worst part is that the Lens results no longer directly link to an image so it's a huge pain.

Re: obsolete reverse image search google add-on extension xpi :(
I see there is a very easy way to get rid of Lens and get the "old" Google Images results page back: https://petapixel.com/2022/01/12/how-to ... in-chrome/
And this is the way to do it with the URL, I'm just very good at editing the arguments and options to make this work in the extension: https://webapps.stackexchange.com/quest ... oogle-lens
Hope someone can help, please.

Seems it's stopped working again, redirects to the main Google Images page now.
Re: obsolete reverse image search google add-on extension xpi :(
Analyze the URL search parameters as they currently are and configure it again the way adoxa showed you. This is why unofficial extensions for third party services are not reliable in the long term.

This is hosted by Pale Moon so I'm hoping it's not that unofficial? Unfortunately, I'm very unfamiliar with search parameters and I would only be guessing.
Perhaps there's a better alternative to this extension?

There is this extension that works on Chrome, maybe it can be helpful: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... lommdnndci
Re: obsolete reverse image search google add-on extension xpi :(
I mean unofficial with respect to Google, it isn't an extension that they made so it will have to keep playing catch up. (Not that Google has offered any Firefox extensions in about 10 12 years).
